Zig -- -- A contact’s maneuver, either a turn, speed change or both. Messes up a passive sonar firecontrol solution, requiring the ship to do more TMA to get a new solution. In some cases, a zig can indicate counterdetection (that the contact has detected own ship), or may be an indication that the contact is doing TMA on own ship. See “melee.”
